Located along the Sacramento River in Redding, California, Turtle Bay Exploration Park’s sixth West Coast Biennial will feature one of Claire Duncan’s paintings along with other media from emerging and established artists along the West Coast. The event will take place online from Friday, January 29, to Sunday, April 11.
Claire Duncan’s paintings emerge from a deep exploration into the nature of human dialog with the visual world. Her artwork evokes questions and relationships while addressing the colliding ideas of internal/external, viewer/maker, object/space, and engagement/withdrawal. In addition, her paintings are informed by a love of the natural world that are coupled with the formal concerns of design and color. With this, she is interested in evoking the solitary experience of beauty.
A People’s Choice Award will be rewarded, so cast a vote for Claire and support her ongoing effort to educate viewers about the amazing and wonderful world that we live in.
