As Rachael describes, there is an evocative nature to domestic objects and spaces - items within homes that hold a residual energy of lives lived long after people are gone. Her work depicts ordinary objects from living rooms that hold the remaining radiance and tenderness of the departed. Working with materials that have weight to them, Rachael's work holds the ideas and feelings that are light and almost impossible to contain... Similar to how homes can hold a lingering domestic presence of the departed.
Oregon Art Beat :: Olga Volchkova
In Olga's paintings, she modernizes traditional icons by paying homage to her passion for both botanicals and plants. Growing up in Russia, she was one of eight lucky artists to attend the first school of Traditional Icon Painting. Discovering that each step in the painting process must look balanced and harmonious, she now uses this knowledge to create visual narratives that explore the mythologies that humans have crafted while expertly rendering her subject's forms.

Inside Look :: Dennis McNett aka Wolfbat Studios
Dennis is a storyteller at heart whose inventive and imaginative personal mythology about the world directly translates into the vigorous work that he creates. Using a v-notch chisel, he forms rich surfaces and deep contours. While the wood engraving itself has two dimensional applications, Dennis transcends those limitations by using carved markings as the basis for relief prints which then become collage materials. From there, Dennis brings to life large three dimensional installations that can be found in museums, art centers, city streets, and other diverse environments.
